DR. MICHAEL YEE, Optometrist

​

Dr. Yee is proud to be practicing in Guelph, the town he was born and raised in!

He holds a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Pre-Optometry from the University of Waterloo and an Optometry degree from the same institution. He completed his ocular disease and therapeutics qualifications at the VA Medical Center in Detroit, MI.

Dr. Yee also trained with optometrists in Vancouver, BC during his four year study at the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry.

 Since 2008, Dr. Yee has been a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Optometrists.  After working throughout Kitchener and Guelph as an associate optometrist for six years, he opened his own practice, offering eye exams, onsite lab services, and an optical dispensary. He is happy for the opportunity to give back to the city he grew up in, meeting both the challenges and rewards of being a business owner head on.

DR. SEJUTIE ALAM, Optometrist

​

Born in Bangladesh, Sejutie immigrated to Southern Ontario with her family when she was 5 years old. She grew up in the GTA before leaving to study at Western University, where she completed her Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree. Sejutie then completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo, graduating with distinction in the Class of 2021.

 

Upon graduation, Sejutie practiced as an optometrist in rural Nova Scotia for a few years to gain valuable and unique experiences. She is very excited to be back in Ontario to provide comprehensive eye care to all of her patients. Her goal is to broaden her patients’ knowledge of their eye health and to make them feel understood and advocated for. She is looking forward to putting down roots in the region and taking care of her patients long-term.

 

In her free time, Sejutie enjoys reading, travelling, and getting together with friends and family.

DR. KELSEY WHIDDEN, Optometrist

​

Dr.  Whidden was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario.  She knew from just 12 years old that she wanted to be an optometrist.  She graduated from Laurentian University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, then earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2024.

Dr. Whidden appreciates all aspects of optometry but has a special interest in glaucoma management. 

In her free time, she enjoys baking, attending country music concerts, and cheering on local sports teams like the Guelph Storm and Grand River Gargoyles.

DR. NEGIN SADEGHI (DR. S), Optometrist

​

Born and raised in Iran, Negin moved to Guelph, Ontario, at the age of 19 and quickly developed a strong connection to the community she now proudly calls home. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the university of Guelph in 2020 before discovering her passion for optometry while working as a staff member at Dr. Yee and Associates.

 

Inspired by her experience in the field and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives, Negin went on to pursue her Doctor of Optometry degree from the university of Waterloo, graduating in 2026. During her clinical training, she completed externship experiences in rural Manitoba, where she gained valuable exposure to a wide range of ocular diseases and diverse patient care needs.

 

She is passionate about all aspects of optometry and is committed to providing thorough, compassionate, and comprehensive eye care tailored to each patient's individual needs. Having developed a strong connection to the Guelph community over the years, she was excited to return to Dr. Yee and Associates to begin her career in the community where her journey into optometry first began.

 

Outside of the clinic, she enjoys travelling, swimming, and spending time with her husband and dog.
